Katie’s passion for global public health draws from her experience in health, sociology and policy. She leverages her background in communications and academe to support clients in advancing health policies and initiatives in important global health issues.
At Rabin Martin, Katie focuses on:
- Developing and supporting strategies for multi-sectoral engagement on global health issues to promote collaboration and efficacy
- Contributing research to inform innovative and effective client initiatives, programs and strategies
- Supporting programmatic, communication and policy activities
Katie comes from an educational background in journalism and politics. She has worked with non-profits in the global and public health world. She held an internship with emergency response and global health organization AmeriCares, where she supported communications activities. Katie recently conducted a comprehensive study of the primary health care system in Bududa, Uganda, where she examined the role of private and public health care and potential avenues for cooperation between the two for more effective and accessible primary care.
