Building and Maintaining Resilience to Address Global Health Challenges

On May 18th, 2015, Rabin Martin President and CEO Jeff Sturchio moderated a panel discussion hosted by Management Sciences for Health (MSH) entitled “Building and Maintaining Resilience to Address Global Health Challenges” during the 68th World Health Assembly. The panel explored ways in which the private sector, NGOs and other stakeholders can support the effort to prepare for the next emerging health threat, integrating learnings from the recent Ebola epidemic. Dr. Jonathan D. Quick, President and CEO Management Science for Health, opened the session, and Jeff Sturchio moderated the panel, which included H.E. Dr. Kesetebirhan Admasu, Minister of Health of Ethiopia; Dr. Rick Brennan, Director of Emergency Risk Management & Humanitarian Response for the World Health Organization and the Director of the WHO Ebola Response; Dr. Jean Patrick Alfred, Assistant Director of the Study and Planning Unit of the Haiti Ministry of Health; Dr. Carrie La Jeunesse; Science & Technology Policy Fellow in the Office of U.S. Representative Jeff Fortenberry; and Dr. Alan Tennenberg, Vice President of Global Health for Johnson & Johnson Worldwide. Dr. Ariel Pablos- Méndez, USAID’s Assistant Administrator for Global Health, provided closing remarks.
