A conversation with the CDC

As countries grapple with multiple health challenges in the face of resource constraints, greater emphasis has been placed on creating partnerships. Partnerships help maintain existing global health programs while facilitating enhanced capacity to respond to emerging health threats. Rabin Martin recently hosted Dr. Rebecca Martin, Dr. Nancy Night, and Carmen Villar from the Center for Global Health of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for an open conversation with representatives from the private sector. The discussion explored how companies can engage more effectively with the CDC and, conversely, how the CDC and its partner countries can collaborate more systematically with the private sector ecosystem to improve global health outcomes.

The discussion examined opportunities for stronger collaboration around data analysis, logistics, the economic impact of health, communications, and workforce development. The private sector’s investment in global health is a mutually beneficial relationship that will only become greater through the continued alignment of priorities.
