The number of people over the age of 60 is expected to grow from 900 million today to 2.4 billion by 2050. Established as part of the Philips Center for Health and Well-being, the Philips Aging Well Think Tank identifies barriers to and develops meaningful solutions to for aging well.
Over the last two years, the group has developed an ‘Aging Well Model’ to explore the possibilities and prospects for successful aging. The model examines four primary pillars – an aging society, personal aging, capabilities and public-private policies, and offers perspectives on successful aging from both individual and societal standpoints. The New Promise of Longevity: A Report on the “Aging Well” Framework of the Philips Think Tank on Aging Well explores this model and provides recommendations for maintaining an optimal quality of life as individuals transition through the different stages of get older.
