We cannot achieve universal health coverage without the private sector
How should countries go about achieving universal health coverage (UHC)? Political willpower, accountability and private sector engagement, according to Jeffrey L. Sturchio, Rabin Martin CEO, and Harald Nusser, Head of Novartis Social Business, in their latest op-ed published in CapX. “Developing the partnerships necessary to achieve UHC requires sustained engagement from political leaders who are willing to be creative, put new ways of working in practice and listen to and respond to the needs of citizens. In the quest to achieve UHC, we must recognise that there are no universally applicable solutions. Each country has a unique path to reaching this goal and must strive to design strategies based on a multifaceted, multi-sectoral process that includes all relevant actors.”
